The role will play a key role in working with airlines to grow long term income from airline activity at Heathrow and strengthen the hub status of the airport. The role will also focus on developing and maintaining strategic business relationships with airlines through strong communications, driving robust commercial arrangements, and delivering
effective internal team work.
- Propose and implement strategy to maximise growth opportunities with strategic Airlines and optimise best use of capacity at Heathrow
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with designated Airlines through the implementation of the agreed engagement strategy. Actively manage the relationship at all levels using knowledge of Airline issues and Heathrow priorities and strategies
- Develop key insights to airline strategies,understanding how market segmentation and local / regional competition should influence airport strategy and our approach to key accounts
- Actively promote commercial collaboration with Airlines/Alliances
- Contribute to Airport pricing reviews and exploit strategic insight to influence airline pricing and contribute to
- Work both with recent new entrant Airlines, (to assist in meeting their growth aspirations in the UK market) and under-performing Airlines (to implement agreed strategies) as appropriate
Qualifications and Experience
- Highly numerate and able to simply articulate the "story behind the numbers"
- Comfortable operating in a high profile role with a high degree of autonomy
- Tenacious with an ability to both understand internal performance and motivate others to improve it
- Skilled negotiator with an ability to operate on specific tasks with a wider political context in mind
- Independently identify areas of opportunity to explore and develop plans to exploit
